Why?

Fucoxanthin is a major carotenoid found in the marine ecosystems, and especially into algae and microalgae. The global demand of fucoxanthin has increased through the last years thanks to great properties that have been found and proved for fucoxanthin application, especially across health and food industry. Some researches has shown that the particular molecular structure of fucoxanthin could help to protect from inflammatory but also obesity, diabetes etc. It has also recently proven benefits on cognitive health. According to the growing demand, the industry is looking for the best sources of fucoxanthin. The microalgae Phaeodactylum tricornutum is considered like one of those.

From the strain cultivation to human application and health benefits, the industry is facing several challenges: what is the best way to produce Phaeodactylum tricornutum? How to optimize the fucoxanthin extraction? What is the regulatory landscape behind this? And finally, for what human application and what kind of business?

In this 60 minutes webinar, we will try to answer these challenging questions thanks to a cohort of 5 experts in their own area.
