The European Algae Biomass Association (EABA) aims to promote a strong link between science, technology and business in the algae biomass sector. Spirulina production is the oldest and the largest microalgae business activity in volume. Therefore is very relevant to bring together the main stakeholders for knowledge exchange and collaboration.

The workshop has a compact format with a panel-based organization. Each panel has a specific topic and a duration of
1 hour; 20 minutes for the presentation of the topic and 40 minutes for discussion and conclusions. Each panel will have an invited chair, and the participants in the panel will be volunteers from the participant group. There will be minutes from the event with the key conclusions for each panel.

"When we say Spirulina we refer to a ‘brand’ related with the microalgae Arthrospira that belongs to the cyanobacteria taxonomic group"

01. All about Spirulina (Mario Tredici and Avigad Vonshak wordwide recognized experts)

02. Vision for the future from large production companies

03. New ideas for Spirulina producers (Potential for Arthrospira + Nostoc + Aphanizomenon + Anabaena)

04. Fresh Spirulina trend analysis (as differentiating product from current dried biomass)

05. Vision from Spiruliniers across Europe

06. Biorefinery and phycocyanin production trends

07. New production technologies for growth, harvesting, processing (drying or freezing) and formulation and packaging

08. Presentation of Spirulina Market Outlook Meticulous Research (first comprehensive study)

09. Regulatory experience debate from Parry Agro (the first certified company) & other

10. The buyers perpective (Spirulina buyers for the health food sector are invited)
